FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Prescription Renewals On-Line For My PatientsHigher standard of patient service enabled using the WWWAugust 1, 2000 -- Dr. Blair Lamb, MD announced today that his patients will be able to use the internet to request a renewal of their standard prescriptions from Dr. Lamb using the internet. Approved requests go to the patient's chosen pharmacy.
"I am pleased to be a part of improving patient services in Canada using the new Drugs & Docs prescription renewal program from the Iasis Corporation of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Patients will no longer have to take time off work to get a simple renewal of their standard prescriptions. Using the internet is a natural way to communicate these requests quickly and efficiently. I am especially glad that this system uses the patient's existing doctor and the pharmacy of their choice." said Dr. Lamb. Patients wishing to access this service can visit www.drugsanddocs.com to join the service. To participate, the patient must enroll in the Iasis Safeguard health system to provide information and verification for this and other services from the Iasis related websites. The cost of being in the Iasis Safeguard health system is C$25 per year. Prescription renewals may be requested from a list of non-narcotic, non-critical medications. Each request can include up to three different medication renewals at an administrative cost of C$30 per request. Half of the fee goes to the Iasis Corporation and half goes to Dr. Lamb. On review, if Dr. Lamb wishes to see you first, the office will call the patient to set an appointment and the patient will receive a C$15 refund. If the renewal is approved, the renewal is signed and faxed to the patient's chosen pharmacy. For More Information Contact:
