Accelerate your Life with Celadrin

Fatty acids have long been touted as a possible anti-arthritic and anti-inflammatory. Cetyl meristeolate, also known as CMO, a fatty acid, was discovered a number of years ago in little animals called mice and was touted as the explanation for the apparent low incidence of degenerative arthritis in these little guys.

Unfortunately, CMO is not well absorbed into the human body, and so the “rat” race was on for a fat that can perform similarly and actually be absorbed. Celadrin is a proprietary blend of fatty acids that are very well absorbed and behaves with prolonged anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect in arthritis and joint pain.
It is available presently in both oral and cream form. Interestingly, the cream is so quickly absorbed that it has benefit for the pain of arthritis (of the knee) within hour(s). The oral form has benefit as well, but takes weeks to be clinically effective. I understand the dogs will be getting it in their dog food soon, and other special topical forms for specific pain areas are also coming to market .

The oral form is typically in little capsules and is easily swallowed. The oral dose of celadrin will depend upon each individual manufacturer, and there are now many. In double blind studies published in the journal of rheumatology demonstrated significant benefit in pain, inflammation, ability to walk in those with arthritis of the knees. Similar results were found in the topical cream form.

I personally find the cream form to be very smooth and easily applied. The cream seems to have dermatological benefits for eczema, psoriasis and many now use it for facial wrinkles. For those of us who apply it to our knees, at least our knees won’t look so old.

The oral form is well tolerated, and the only side effect I have noticed is a rare bloating, or constipation that is typical of most fatty acid supplements.
